Online gambling in Buenos Aires Province: how to recognise a licensed operator

What the Province regulates, what IPLyC does, what .bet.ar means and how to check a site before signing up. An information guide, not legal advice.

The provincial framework

In Buenos Aires Province, online gambling is regulated by Law 15,079 of 2019 — its Title VIII covers online gaming — and by Regulatory Decree 181/19. According to the regulator, this framework created seven licences to run online gambling.

IPLyC's official page publishes the rules in force (law, decree, annexes and resolutions) together with the list of licensed operators. Whenever a regulatory detail matters to your decision, check it there: loteria.gba.gob.ar/juego-online (opens in a new tab; external site).

IPLyC: who supervises

The Instituto Provincial de Lotería y Casinos (IPLyC), known as the Province Lottery, licenses and supervises gambling in the Province. Among other things it:

  • publishes the list of licensed online gambling operators;
  • takes reports of illegal gambling, including anonymous ones;
  • has run, since 2005 and together with the provincial Ministry of Health, the Compulsive Gambling Prevention and Assistance Program.

Institutional contact published by the regulator: Calle 46 Nº 581, La Plata; line 0800-999-4263; info@loteria.gba.gov.ar.

What .bet.ar means

The regulator sums it up in one rule: legal betting sites end in .bet.ar. It is the first thing to check in your browser's address bar, but not the only one: a look-alike domain is not the licensed site. Always compare the full domain with the one linked from the official list.

In August 2026 IPLyC reported illegal sites that used the look of a licensed platform as an entry screen, then redirected bettors to unlicensed operators. The regulator reminded the public that sites not ending in .bet.ar can be reported anonymously (notice of 2026-08-20 (opens in a new tab; external site)).

Why jurisdiction matters

A Buenos Aires Province authorization applies to the Province. It does not extend to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) or to other provinces, which have their own regulators and lists.

The same operator can run a different site for each jurisdiction. BetWarrior's terms, for example, point to separate promotion pages for the Province (pba.betwarrior.bet.ar), the City (caba.betwarrior.bet.ar) and Mendoza (mza.betwarrior.bet.ar). And the conditions change: Buenos Aires Province: 8 times (deposit + bonus), real money only, odds of 1.7 or more, 10 days, maximum withdrawal ARS 500,000; CABA, La Rioja, Salta, Neuquén, Chubut and Mendoza: 10 times the bonus, odds of 1.7 or more, 15 days, maximum withdrawal ARS 1,000,000 (official T&Cs (opens in a new tab; external site), 2026-10-18).

Operators may require you to be in a licensed jurisdiction to play. BetWarrior, for example, says so on its casino page.

How to check a licensed operator, step by step

  1. Open IPLyC's official list of licensed operators.
  2. Compare the exact domain with the one in your browser's address bar.
  3. Be wary of links sent through social media, messages or profiles that are not the operator's official ones.
  4. Find the terms and conditions that apply to Buenos Aires Province.
  5. Expect to verify your age and identity: according to IPLyC, licensed platforms identify bettors and bar minors.
  6. If you find a site that does not end in .bet.ar, you can report it at loteria.gba.gob.ar/denuncias (opens in a new tab; external site).

An operator and a comparison site are not the same

The operator holds the licence, offers the games, takes deposits, pays withdrawals, verifies identity and is responsible for your account. The comparison site — CasinoLupa — publishes information, compares offers and may link to the operator's site, sometimes through affiliate links. CasinoLupa holds no gambling licence, has no player accounts and handles no funds.

Verifying your account

When you sign up, the operator may ask for details and documents to confirm your identity and age. It is usually mandatory before you can withdraw: BetWarrior, for example, requires a verified account to process withdrawals. Do this only inside the operator's official site and never send money or documents through unofficial channels.

Minimum age: 18

According to the regulator, any activity related to betting on games of chance is prohibited for anyone under 18.

Why check the current terms

Promotions change and their terms can be amended; BetWarrior's Province terms, for example, state that changes require IPLyC's prior authorization. That is why every CasinoLupa data point shows its verification date, and why we recommend confirming on the official site before accepting any offer.

Gambling is entertainment, not a way to make money

  • Over-18s only.
  • Decide in advance how much time and money you will spend, and stick to it.
  • Never chase losses or gamble with borrowed money or money meant for essentials.
  • Use the limit, break and self-exclusion tools that authorized operators provide.

Check that it appears on IPLyC's official list and that the site's exact domain matches the one the regulator links to. Legal sites end in .bet.ar.

Where can I report an illegal site?

On the Province Lottery's reporting page, which accepts anonymous reports.
