Online gambling in Argentina: every jurisdiction has its own rules

There is no single national licence. Buenos Aires Province, the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the other provinces regulate online gambling separately. Here is how to tell what applies where you are.

A map of regulations, not one licence

In Argentina, online gambling is licensed jurisdiction by jurisdiction. Each province and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires set their own rules, grant their own licences and publish their own operator lists. The national Secretariat of Industry and Trade acknowledged this in the recitals of Resolution 446/2025: gambling advertising had a legal framework in some provinces or jurisdictions, but not at national level (official text (opens in a new tab; external site)).

The practical consequence is simple: an operator licensed in one jurisdiction is not necessarily licensed in another.

Buenos Aires Province and Buenos Aires City: two separate jurisdictions

They share a name but not a regulator. In the Province, the regulator is the Instituto Provincial de Lotería y Casinos (IPLyC). In the Autonomous City, licences are granted by the City Lottery (LOTBA).

That is why operators often run separate sites. Betsson announced one domain for the City and another for the Province in 2022 (Betsson AB press release (opens in a new tab; external site)). BetWarrior's terms point to caba.betwarrior.bet.ar for the City and pba.betwarrior.bet.ar for the Province (official T&Cs (opens in a new tab; external site)).

Same operator, different conditions

Promotions change by jurisdiction too. In BetWarrior's terms consulted on 2026-10-18, the sportsbook welcome offer is cleared as follows:

  • Buenos Aires Province: 8 times (deposit + bonus), real money only, odds of 1.7 or more, 10 days, maximum withdrawal ARS 500,000.
  • CABA, La Rioja, Salta, Neuquén, Chubut and Mendoza: 10 times the bonus, odds of 1.7 or more, 15 days, maximum withdrawal ARS 1,000,000.

When you compare offers, make sure you are reading the variant for your jurisdiction. CasinoLupa publishes the Buenos Aires Province variant only.

Other provinces

Córdoba, Mendoza, Santa Fe and the remaining provinces have their own regulators and their own lists of licensed operators. Before signing up anywhere, find your province's regulator's official site and check the current authorization there.

Online gambling advertising at national level

Resolution 446/2025 of the Secretariat of Industry and Trade, with its Annex replaced by Resolution 271/2026 (Official Gazette of 2026-08-06), requires gambling and betting advertising distributed in Argentina to include the warning “EL JUGAR COMPULSIVAMENTE ES PERJUDICIAL PARA LA SALUD” (compulsive gambling is harmful to your health) and the legend “+18”, in bold, with sufficient contrast and fixed for the entire piece. Where a province or the City requires its own legends, the obligation is met as long as those technical specifications are respected.

CasinoLupa shows that warning in a fixed position on every page. This summary is for information only: how it applies to each advertising format should be reviewed with professional advice.

How to check where you are

  1. Consider where you physically are: operators may check your location and restrict access by jurisdiction.
  2. Find that jurisdiction's regulator and its official operator list.
  3. Compare the site's exact domain with the one on that list.
  4. Read the terms and conditions of your jurisdiction's variant.

Gambling is entertainment, not a way to make money

  • Over-18s only.
  • Decide in advance how much time and money you will spend, and stick to it.
  • Never chase losses or gamble with borrowed money or money meant for essentials.
  • Use the limit, break and self-exclusion tools that authorized operators provide.
